Myoplex Tips

I love Myoplex. I could live on the stuff! Most people who try it for the
first time and hate it just haven't figured out how to make it yet. Here are some pointers if you have a whole box of
it that you don't think you can gag down.
The best way to make Myoplex is with a blender and ice or frozen fruit.
If
you don't have a blender and ice, you need a shaker bottle with a screen to break up lumps. You also need ice cold water.
If
you want to throw up, just make it with tap water, and mix it with a spoon or a shaker with no screen. You'll end up with
warm, lumpy vomit water. :-)
You can control the thickness by the amount of water and ice you add. I'm always baffled
by people who say Myoplex is too thick. Double or triple the amount of water you use and you'll be drinking chocolate milk,
not cake batter. Make it with lots of ice and little water and you can almost create ice cream. You have to experiment
to find your favorite consistency. I use 16 oz of water for Myoplex Light, and 20 oz for regular Myoplex.
If you
use Myoplex low-carb, you can add a lot of stuff without making it carb-heavy. I split those in half and add milk, frozen
strawberries, or a frozen banana.
If you're using regular Myoplex, you can add 20g of carbs before you throw it off
balance (10g if you're splitting the packets in half). I highly recommend half a frozen banana. It does wonders for any
flavor. Just peel some bananas, cut them in half, and throw them in a bag in the freezer. Use a little extra water and
toss half a frozen banana in the blender with your Myoplex. Good stuff!
If you're using Myoplex Lite, you have to
be much more careful because it already has a lot of carbs in it. Bananas and milk are pretty much out. You can still
add 3-4 frozen strawberries, 5 frozen cherries, 3-4 frozen peach wedges, or 3-4 frozen mango chunks without wrecking the
protein/carb ratio.
Favorite combos:
Add banana to any flavor Add cherries to Chocolate Add strawberries
to Strawberry Add mango to Pina Colada flavor Add peaches to Peach or Pina Colada Add frozen berry blend (blueberry,
raspberry, strawberry) to chocolate. It turns it purple!
You can buy frozen, unsweetened fruit in bags at the store.
Be creative, and if you come up with any spectacular Myoplex recipes, do tell!
